I have been fascinated all of my life with Fine Arts including Painting and Drawing. I studied Fine Art at Tulane University in New Orleans and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. I am currently enjoying a rebirth and have entered into a new phase after many turns in the road along my career path which took me in and out of Corporate America. I renewed my Fine Art studies at the Glassell School of Art in Houston and the Chelsea Classical Studios in New York. I have traveled extensively to see many works of Art in such countries as Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom including Monet, Picasso and the Dutch Masters. I am currently entering into a phase where I am seeking exhibition opportunities and markets for my artworks. Recently I took a further step and opened my studio at Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards in Houston, TX.
My artwork is characterized by my impressions of the natural world including figures, landscapes and wildlife. I begin my pieces with a study using sketches and photographs. Using layering of oils and glazes, I build color compositions and forms which mimic the rhythms in nature. The final product is a compilation and evolution of color, line, and form. I am influenced by the natural balance in nature and relationships which spill over into my pieces.
I enjoy traveling and viewing nature. I love recreating figures, plants and wildlife in my work. Currently, I find inspiration in the impressionistic works. My art fulfills a personal need and represents my life’s journey. My style is characterized by energetic brushwork applied in small, quick strokes which captures the light and color from nature.
